The diversity of this school Gwinnett county sucks me so many things about the world and how to treat others. So when I asked the question who unlocks and locks the doors I have been told "I don't know Im not there" So I tried to rephrase and ask not even a janitor? There is also an opportunity for advancement. They also rotate extra money positions, such as field trips or mid day routes.

High turnover of employers. Was stressed out. Rewarding yet challenging. A typical day would be to pretrip and post trip the bus, run 4 routes in the a.
Dealing with the daily challenges of traffic and weather related events. Bus driver. The employees are rude and they are very segregated during meetings. Made me feel uncomfortable when they stood around talkimg about "african americans". By saying "they" I mean the old Caucasians in the groups. Even training was awkward because the trainers would say sarcastic things in regards to other counties as though their drivers on the road were any different.
Standard bus driving route. Plenty of training ans support. Split shifts became long days. Treated fairly and supported with any issues that arose. Slow pace. Driving a school bus on a route to pick up students.
Days are usaually slow and rough starting. Hardest part of the job is trying to keep the kids under control. One of the best places to work. One of the best places to work, if you are looking for full or part time work.
The students are great, and all the supervisor will listen and help you. Gwinnett County Schools. School Bus Manager is a somewhat stressful job, in regards to being responsible for all the kids. Gwinnett does an excellent job in stressing safety habits. Overall the colleagues were great. Pay should be a little higher.

Some of the training instructors made it relaxing to pass and the reading materials given weren't that hard. Just had to study hard. My 1st year was a breeze. I fell in love with doing my job. I loved my students, got along very well with the teachers and staff at the schools and also attached to some of my parents of the students that I transported.
I started off in regular ed doing all sorts of mid day activities which made it fun. Disrespectful Management run their drivers away Love learning new little personalities and meeting parents. And also, you will be written up not for submitting medical forms in a timely manner; requesting a fully operable spare from the repair shop.
I love working for the county. But if you have children it works out great because you are off work when they are out of school. Great place to work if you love kids! Been here for 6 years and love it! Great company but insurance sucks. Pay is decent and you build up sick time each month so if something major happens, you can use it without losing pay! Enjoyed transporting students to and from school. Very fast paced workplace, different challenges every day with students, traffic, and school officials. Fun Working with Kids. Driving the children to and from school in a safe manner. Learning to operate airbrakes on the bus and various other safety procedures was a great experience.
Professional operation. Management was professionally staffed, from the bus level up to the top of the chain of command. This made working there easy because of the consistency of management. At first the job seems cool. A lot of work for little pay. You have no real retirement.
Benefits are expensive and the pay is prorated so you can get paid over the summer. Even though your kids can ride with you your up super early in the morning. Zero ratings should be an option. Work for your pay. Come back do it again. Nitwits promoted no real skills. Job advertised paid time off however your pay is prorated.
Hard to promote unless on the deacon board of the directors church. Great place to work if you have school aged children. I was a bus driver and it was great when my kids were in school. The hours are not bad and I had the time off when school was out and did not have to worry about daycare. Management was great and job was nice.
